Waltham Mrs. Mary A. (McGarry) Duffy of Waltham died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 65. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Patrick J. and Nora (Quirk) McGarry, she was raised in West Newton where she graduated from Saint Bernards High School. She lived in Waltham for the past thirty years and until her retirement she worked for 20 years as a registration clerk at Waltham Hospital. Mrs. Duffy was also one of the founders of the Waltham Centennial Scholarship Fund. She leaves her husband, John M. Duffy; her sons, John M. Duffy, Jr. of Pelham, NH, James H. Duffy of Mendon, Stephen L. Duffy of Waltham and Andrew P. Duffy of Rockport; 2 brothers, Joseph P. McGarry of Framingham and Thomas A. McGarry of Seabrook, NH; 2 sisters, Dorothy M. Cole of Huntsville, Texas and Barbara J. Rizza of West Newton; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Bernards Church, 1523 Washington Street, West Newton at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
