Weston – Mrs. Mary B. (O'Dea) Duggan, of Weston, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 87.
Mary was born in Galway, Ireland on June 11, 1925, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Murphy) O'Dea. She immigrated to the United States, first to Woburn and then, in 1960, to Waltham where she had been a resident before recently moving to Weston.
Until her retirement Mary worked as a picture framer and before that for Puritan Dress Company in Waltham. She had been a longtime member of the Irish Music Club of Greater Boston, the Irish Social Club of Greater Boston, the Norwood Irish Club and the County Galway Ladies Club of Greater Boston.
The wife of the late Walter K. Duggan,she leaves her sister, Bridie Fahy of Galway; her longtime friends, Bill and Roberta Stanley of Waltham and Kathy and Maryann Killilea of Newton and many nieces and nephews.
She was also a sister of the late James O'Dea and Margaret O'Sullivan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, July 10th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel of Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
