Waltham – Mrs. Mary V. (Spinelli) Dunham, of Waltham, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at her home. She was 86.
Mary was born in Waltham on June 4, 1927, a daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie (Willett) Spinelli. She lived in Waltham for most of her life before moving with her husband, Leo, to Orlando, Florida in 1989. She returned to Waltham last year.
During the early years of her marriage she worked as a camera technician for Graphic Microfilm in Waltham and later as a hostess at the former Charter House restaurant in Waltham. She had been a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the PFC John M. Sullivan USMC Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10334 in Waltham.
Mary's husband of fifty-seven years, Leo L. Dunham, died December 16, 2006.
She leaves her children, Wayne F. Dunham of Waltham, Darlene E. Burket and her husband, William, of Nashua, New Hampshire, Denise A. Cram of Waltham and Debra K. Cody and her husband, Charles, of Gardner; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was also the mother-in-law of the late Robert Cram and Patricia Dunham; grandmother of the late Shawn W. Cram and sister of the late John Cosgrove.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, May 14th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
