Imperial Beach, Calif. – Mrs. Mary E. (Kavaleski) Foley passed peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the age of 100.
Mary was born in Waltham on June 13th, 1914, a daughter of the late William J. and Tekla (Gorka) Kavaleski. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Waltham and worked as a dental assistant for many years after graduation.
She was a long time resident of Newburyport where she was a volunteer at Anna Jacques Hospital for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and a variety of creative pursuits.
In 2000, Mary moved to Imperial Beach to be with her daughter and where she was an active member of the Imperial Beach Senior Center.
She was wife of the late Cornelius J. Foley, to whom she had been married for 46 years, the mother of the late Cornelius J. "Neil" Foley, Jr., and the sister of the late John J. Kavaleski, Fred T. Kavaleski, and William J. Kavaleski, Jr.
She leaves her daughter, Mary Beth Townes, and her husband, John, of Imperial Beach; her daughter- in-law, Ellen Foley of Nahant; her grandchildren, Kathleen P. Foley of Moultonborough New Hampshire, Sean M. Foley and Paul D. Foley, both of Nahant and Bethellen Foley of Boston; her sisters-in-law, Eleanor Kavaleski and Helen Kavaleski, both of Waltham; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering to visit at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 28th, in Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport.
