West Bridgewater - Miss Mary Gilmore, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Life Care Center in West Bridgewater. She was 79. Mary was born in Greenfield on July 10, 1929 a daughter of the late John J. and Charlotte (Hildreth) Gilmore Jr. and had lived in Waltham and in Wayland before recently moving to West Bridgewater. She worked as an administrative assistant at Dartmouth College, General Electric, Raytheon Corporation and, until her retirement, at United Brands in Boston. Mary attended Greenfield public schools and was a 1947 graduate of Cushing Academy in Ashburnham. She was also a 1949 graduate of Lasell Junior College. Mary leaves her brother, John J. Gilmore and his wife, Helen, of Greenfield; her brother-in-law, Charles Cook of Greenfield and many nieces and nephews. Mary was the twin sister of the late Jean Cook and sister of the late Ann Bruce. Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Monday morning from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Green River Cemetery in Greenfield where her Graveside Service will take place at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to The Gillette Cancer Center for Women, Attn: Dr. Arlan Fuller, Gynecology Oncology Research Fund, Massachusetts General Hospital, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114 or to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
