Mrs. Mary L. (Philips) Maffucci, of Waltham, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Maristhill Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 95. A lifelong Waltham resident, Mrs. Maffucci was employed by the Hood Rubber Company as well as the Waltham Paper Bag Company. She was active at the Francis Cabot Lowell Mill where she had lived for over twenty-five years. Mrs. Maffucci was the wife of the late Carnio Maffucci, the daughter of the late Francesco and Lucia (Peperella) DeFilippis, the sister of the late Anthony Philips, Frances Binda, Thomas Philips, Patricia Deldon, Benedict Philips, and Albert Philips, and the aunt of the late Francis Philips, Rita MacKenzie, Marie Philips, and Elizabeth Deldon. She is survived by her sister, Josephine LaFort of Westboro; her nieces, Joan Choiniere and her husband, Bud, Emma LaFort and her husband, Tim, Gene Luneau, Barbara Mula and her husband, Fred, Sandy Colangelo and her husband, Frank, Marie Bennett and her husband, Gordon, and Pamela Taviela and her husband, Tony, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Monday at 9:30 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
