Mary C. (Connors) O'Brien

Waltham – Mrs. Mary C. (Connors) O'Brien, of Waltham, died Friday, February 13, 2015 in The Leland Home. She was 96.

Mary was born in Waltham on January 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Patrick and Annie (Lardner) Connors, and had been a lifelong resident. Until her retirement she worked for many years for the Raytheon Company.

The wife of the late Alfred M. O'Brien and mother of the late Michael J. O'Brien, she leaves her grandchildren, James M. O'Brien of Waltham, Daniel W. O'Brien and his wife, Christina, of Watertown, and Stephen J. O'Brien and his wife, Brooke, of Calera, Alabama; her great-grandchildren, Fiona, Teresa, and Weston O'Brien; her nieces and nephews, Patricia Szydlowski, Robert Jackson, William Jackson, Eileen Lutz, Thomas Connors, and Judy Wheeler and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mary was also the mother-in-law of the late Noreen T. (Spracklin) O'Brien and a sister of the late Thomas Connors, Francis Connors, and Rita Jackson.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, February 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
