Waltham – Mrs. Mary R. (Scandale) Passerello, of Waltham, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Epoch of Weston. She was 93.

Mary was born in Newton on February 17, 1918, a daughter of the late Thomas and Teresa (Mannarino) Scandale, and had been a Waltham resident since 1939. Until her retirement she worked for the Raytheon Corporation.

The wife of the late Salvatore J. Passerello, she leaves her children, Marie T. Norton of Waltham and Janice D. DeLosa and her husband, George, of Watertown; her sisters, Anne Allain of Leominster, Teresa Maloney of Waltham and Virginia Sicard of Concord; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was also the mother of the late John S. Passerello and Robert J. Passerello and a sister of the late Vito, Rosario, Thomas and Joseph Scandale and Rose Rando.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mary’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning when her funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
