Waltham – Mrs. Mary G. 'Chickie' (Kopicko) Pazzano, of Waltham, died peacefully at the Life Care Center in Leominster on Friday, February 26, 2010. She was 96. Mary was born in Gardner on February 18, 1914, a daughter of Adam and Helena (Plenko) Kopyczko and was raised in Malden where she graduated from Malden High School in 1933. After that she studied to become a nurse and worked at the former Robert Breck Brigham Hospital in Boston. She married Frederick F. Pazzano in 1942 and moved to Waltham. She was active in senior citizen activities in Waltham, including bowling and dancing, and was the bookkeeper for her husband's businesses, Waltham Tire Exchange, Kaiser Frazer dealership and Pazzano Wrench Company for over thirty years. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Frederick, who died in 1976, her sister, Eugenia M. 'Laura' Hull, and her grandson, Brian M. Pazzano. She is survived by her sons, Frederick J. Pazzano of Gambrills, Maryland and Robert A. Pazzano of Bolton; her grandchildren, Karen Pazzano Markham of New York City, Stephen Pazzano of Gambrills, Maryland, David Pazzano, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire and Caitlin Pazzano Cooper of Waltham and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to St. Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
