Mary T. (DeFrancisco) Evans

Mrs. Mary T. (DeFrancisco) Evans, of Maynard, died Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Emerson Hospital in Concord.   She was 93.

Mary was born in Boston on October 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Florence (McGaffigan) DeFrancisco, and was raised in Cambridge.  Following her marriage to Robert Evans the pair moved to Allston where they were longtime residents.  After Bob’s death Mary lived for a time in Watertown before moving to Maynard.

For years she worked at Dorothy Muriel’s Bakery in Allston where her extraordinary cake decorating skills were showcased and sought after.  Mary was everyone’s favorite ‘auntie’ who for years made birthday celebrations very special.

She leaves her brother, Anthony J. DeFranciso (Kathleen) of Maynard and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Mary was also a sister of the late Agnes DeStefano, Rose Sousa, Florence Urbaczewski, Dominic and Joseph DeFrancisco.

Funeral services for Mary were private.
