Mrs. Mary Woods Roos, of Belmont and Framingham, died on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Residence, Wayland. She was 75.
She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton, Benedictine College in Atchinson, Kansas and received a graduate degree from Assumption College in Worcester. She remained at home to raise her children and then became a long-time educator in various positions and was active in volunteer work.
She was the only child of William Andrew Woods, a native of Walden, Vermont and Kathleen Frances Murray Woods, a native of Woburn. Many of her remaining family is mostly from Vermont and Kansas.
She is survived by her loving family; her husband, Albert Roos, a native of Kansas; her children, Patricia Roos of Belmont, William Roos of Waltham, Kathleen Roos of Los Angeles, California and Edward Roos of Framingham. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws, among them, Margaret Roos of Mount Vernon, New York.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mary's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, October 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning at 8 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mount Auburn St., Watertown where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont.
