Maryalice Gallagher

Wayland – Miss Maryalice Gallagher, of Wayland, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham. Maryalice was born in Brookline on October 18, 1922, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Dunphy) Gallagher.

She was raised and educated in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1939. She earned her Bachelor's degree in English from Boston College in 1952 and then spent her career working for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, as a secretary for the president, and then as a field manager.

Mayalice was a Waltham resident for 17 years before moving to Wayland. She was always grateful for the devotion of her family, friends and for the faith that sustained her.

Maryalice was a sister of the late Paul Gallagher and Arthur Gallagher, Jr. and leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Maryalice's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, November 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School St. Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
