Maureen H. Doyle

Waltham – Mrs. Maureen H. (Brady) Doyle, of Waltham, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 80.

Maureen was born in Belmont on August 15, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur and Veronica (Sullivan) Brady, and was a graduate of Mount Trinity Academy in Belmont. A Waltham resident for more than fifty years, Maureen worked for Little, Brown & Company which later became part of Time-Warner. Before that she had worked for Jordan Marsh department stores.

Always an avid reader she consumed books by the dozen and was talented with needlepoint and knitting. Maureen and her family spent many happy summers at their home in Eastham and she enjoyed several trips traveling throughout Europe with lifelong friends.

She leaves her husband of 56 years, John R. Doyle, Jr.; her children, John R. Doyle, III and his wife, Mary, of Arlington, Brian A. Doyle and his wife, Cecilia, of Milford, James J. Doyle and his wife, Janice, Thomas Doyle, all of Waltham and Kathleen Doyle of Eastham; her grandchildren, Jennifer L., John R., IV, Matthew R., Nicholas B. and Timothy J. Doyle and many nieces and nephews.

Maureen was also the sister of the late Elizabeth 'Betty' Oberlander and Robert Brady.

Family and friends will honor and remember Maureen's life by gathering for her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
