Waltham – Mrs. Maureen C. (Grenham) Kinnucane, of Waltham, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham. She was 87.
Maureen was born on December 7, 1926 in Athlone, County Roscommon, Ireland, one of seven children born to the late Michael and Bridget (Coleman) Grenham. She immigrated to the United States when she was twenty years old.
Shortly after her marriage to Galway native William J. 'Bill' Kinnucane the couple moved to Waltham in 1961 settling in the Lakeview neighborhood where they raised their family. Before that they lived for a time in Auburndale.
They were long active and devoted parishioners at Our Lady's Church and were longtime members of the Irish Social Club of Boston where they enjoyed the music and dancing of their native country.
After Bill died on September 17, 1986 Maureen remained deeply involved in parish life and with her friends in Irish social groups.
She leaves her children, Michael J. Kinnucane and his wife, Beverly, of Framingham, William F. Kinnucane and his wife, Sherry of Hudson and Annmarie DallaCosta and her husband, Richard, of North Falmouth; her grandchildren, Erin, Mark and Brian Kinnucane and Sarah and Jessica DallaCosta; her brother, James Grenham of London, England and many nieces and nephews.
Maureen was also a sister of the late Michael Grenham, Timothy Grenham, Kathleen O'Connell, Bridie Murray and Ann Fenton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Maureen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, November 4th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
