Michael F. Burke

Waltham – Mr. Michael F. Burke of Waltham died Sunday, July 11, 2004 in Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 50. A lifelong Waltham resident, Mr. Burke was employed as a custodian for the Waltham School Department working in the William F. Stanley Elementary School. Mr. Burke served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was the son of the late Henry L. Burke. Mr. Burke is survived by his wife, Johanna M. (Pena) Burke; his children, James, Sarah, Emma, Ann Marie, and Lisa Marie Burke all of Belmont and Devin Burke of Waltham; his mother, Irene F. (Quimby) Burke of Marshfield; his sister, Beverly M. Wood of Waltham; his brothers, James F. Burke and William H. Burke both of Sudbury and John J. Burke of Austin, TX; his former wife, Betsy (Fessenden) Burke of Belmont; his friend, Emily Miller of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 10 am in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham.
