Michael P. Connors

Newton – Mr. Michael P. Connors of Newton, formerly of Waltham, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was 52. <br><br>Mr. Connors was born, raised, and educated in Waltham, graduating Waltham High School in 1971. He was the head custodian at Brandeis University for the past seventeen years. Mr. Connors also drove a truck for Mass. Hardware in Waltham for many years. Mr. Connors was an avid fisherman who loved boating and the outdoors. He summered at Newfound Lake in New Hampshire.<br><br>Mr. Connors was the son of the late John and Pearl (McFadden) Connors, the brother of the late Robert A. Connors, and the son-in-law of the late Bert Hansen.<br><br>Mr. Connors is survived by his wife of 13 years, Mary E. (Hansen) Connors who was his lifetime companion and best friend; his sisters, Joan Coppola and Julia Richard both of Newton and Barbara Rossi of Waltham; his brothers, John 'Jack' Connors of Leominster, William Connors of Florida and Joseph Connors of Sunapee, New Hamphire; his mother-in-law, Shirley Hansen of Waltham; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. <br><br>The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. <br><br>Visiting hours are Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. <br><br>Donations in Michael’s memory to HealthCare Dimensions Hospice, 764 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02451 would be appreciated.<br>
