Waltham – Mr. Michael J. Hoover, of Waltham, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He was 57.

Michael was born in Waltham on August 24, 1954, a son of the late Henry M. and Claire M. (Copan) Hoover, and had been a lifelong resident. In 1972 he graduated from Waltham High School and two years later graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston. After that he served as a senior airman with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked as a computer programmer for various financial institutions, most recently with Olmstead Associates in Boston.

He leaves his siblings, Donald E. Hoover of Brimfield, Karen M. LeBlanc and Wayne H. Hoover, both of Waltham and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Michael's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, October 4th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning when his funeral service will held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
