Waltham Mr. Michael A. Martin, of Waltham, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Saint Josephs Hospital in Buffalo, New York. He was 51. Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, a son of Greta S. (Mazerolle) Martin of York, Maine and the late Adelbert J. Martin, Mike moved with his family to Salem in 1963 and to Waltham two years later where he had lived ever since. He was a 1975 graduate of Waltham High School and a 1979 graduate of Wentworth Institute in Boston where he earned a degree in architectural design. Nicknamed Tiny, Mike was a top performer on the Waltham High School football, wrestling and track teams. He lettered and was a member of the All-Suburban teams in all three sports. He also coached his son Matthews baseball team at the Warrendale and Babe Ruth Leagues for the past eight seasons and was a coach for the Waltham YMCA Youth Basketball program. He also rode his Harley in fundraising events for Hunter's Hope, a charitable foundation established in 1997. Mike was the owner of WDC Builders, Inc. of Waltham since 1981 and had been a member and past president of NARI, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. He had also been a member of the board of directors of Rebuilding Together Boston, a non-profit charitable organization providing assistance to urban homeowners. During his career, Mike received several awards for industry performance achievements. In addition to his mother, he leaves his wife, Cynthia L. (Maher) Martin; his children, Jennifer E., Elizabeth L. and Matthew J. Martin, all of Waltham; his brothers, George A. Martin of Waltham, Mario L.J. Martin of Randolph, Pierre S. Martin of Waltham and Gene D. Martin of Melrose and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10:30 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
