Mrs. Mildred Cronin, of Weston, died Monday, September 26, 2022 in Care One Nursing Home in Newton. She was 90.
Mildren was born in Boston on November 22, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Griffin) Hurl. Raised in South Boston she was a graduate of South Boston High School.
She had worked for a number of years for the United States Army and Navy as a key punch operator before raising her children. Once they had grown, she returned to the workforce serving first in the Weston Town Clerk's office and retired as the Assistant Treasurer.
She was known as a quiet and reserved woman who always put her family first. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Robert Cronin, she leaves her children, James Cronin of Weston, Margaret Martos of Weston, and Elizabeth Fraser of Abington; her grandchildren, Mark (Geah), Michael, and Anthony Martos; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Sierra, Roslyn, Alexis, Hunter, and Zyanya; her sisters, Margaret O'Leary of Brockton, and Dorothy Cucinatta of Quincy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mildred was also the sister of the late Phyllis Higgins, Mary King, Charles Hurl and Francis Hurl.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mildred's life by gathering in The Joyce Funeral Home 245 Main Street (Rte. 20,) Waltham on Thursday, September 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again Friday morning at 10 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
