Mildred E. Hill

Waltham - Mrs. Mildred E. (White) Hill, of Waltham, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at Epoch Senior Healthcare in Weston. She was 86. Born in Watertown, a daughter of the late Edgar and Ann (Campbell) White, she had been a longtime Waltham resident. Until her retirement Millie worked for thirty-five years as the Assistant Clerk Magistrate at the Waltham District Court on Linden Street. Her favorite pastime was writing poetry for her family and friends at special times in their lives, and for events in the community. One of her favorites was a poem that appeared in the Daily News Tribune describing the Blizzard of 1978. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. Hill, mother of the late Raymond Hill and Carole Ann Millen and sister of the late Dorothy Chambers, Marion Fitzpatrick, Charles White and Thomas White. Millie leaves her son, Robert Hill and his wife, Chris, of Watertown; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10 a.m. Tuesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
