Mrs. Mildred L. (Moore) LaMacchia of Cambridge, formerly of Waltham died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at The Neville Center at Fresh Pond in Cambridge. She was 93.
Mildred was born August 31, 1929 in Arlington, a daughter of the late Rueben and Rachel (Minty) Moore. She was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School. She had worked at Manning, Maxwell & Moore Co. as a comptrometer operator for 12 years.
In 1958 she married the late Francis LaMacchia, and the two settled in Waltham to raise their family. Mildred was born to be a mother; she was a strong woman and was completely devoted to her family.
Mildred leaves her children, Kevin F. LaMacchia and his wife Elaine of Revere, Robert F. LaMacchia and his wife Paulette of Billerica and Karen L. LaMacchia of Waltham; her grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, and Nicholas; her great-grandchild Colin; her sister Phyllis Ahern of Brockton and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Allen and James Moore, Ruth Walsh, and Barbara Baker.
Family and friends will honor and remember Mildred's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
