Waltham- Mrs. Mildred E. (Murphy) Mitchell of Waltham died Monday August 1, 2005 at MeadowGreen Nursing Center. She was 92. Born in Newton a daughter of the late Edward F. and Ellen (Connearney) Murphy, she has lived in Waltham since 1972 where she worked for many years as a secretary for McLean Hospital in Belmont. She was also a parishioner at Saint Lukes Church in Belmont. She was the wife of the late John A. Mitchell and sister of the late Charles Murphy, Edward Murphy and Mary Scanlon. She is survived by two sons John A. Mitchell and his wife Betty of Magnolia, Edward F. Mitchell and his wife Maria of Lynn, one daughter Nancy E. Mitchell of Waltham, three grandchildren Joyce Pepin of Hollis, NH; Katherine Gardner of Milford, NH; Eric Mitchell of Amesbury, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Lukes Church 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
