Waltham Mrs. Mildred Patricia Patsy (Mackie) Romkey, of Waltham, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 as a result of injuries received in an auto accident in Quincy. She was 77. She was raised and educated in South Boston where she had been a longtime resident. She moved to Waltham twenty-five years ago and, until her retirement, worked for the Boston Housing Authority. After that, Patsy worked part-time at Costcos in Waltham. She was also a longtime volunteer at the First Parish Church Clothing Exchange in Waltham. Pat leaves her husband, James D. Romkey; three sons, Robert J. Cummins of Tampa, Florida, Brian P. Cummins of Weymouth and Paul G. Cummins of Newton; four grandchildren, Maura, Erin, Brendan and Tyler Cummins; her sisters and brothers, Marie Welby, Eleanor Jones, both of Quincy, Dorothy Gough of Virginia, Linda Johnson of West Roxbury, Richard Mackie of South Boston, Charles Mackie of Methuen, James Mackie of Liverpool, New York and Annie Mackie of West Roxbury and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also a sister of the late William and John Mackie. A Funeral Mass for Patsy will be offered in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham on Monday, October 2nd at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:45 p.m. Visiting hours are omitted.
