Gloucester – Mrs. Miriam F. (Costello) Allia, of Gloucester, formerly of Waltham, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Greycliff at Cape Ann Nursing Center. She was 91. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, a daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Kelly) Costello, she had lived in Waltham for more than seventy years before moving to Gloucester six years ago. Miriam was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and crocheting and had been a longtime member of the Wal-Lex Bowling League in Waltham. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. The wife of the late Joseph J. Allia, she leaves her children, Joseph J. Allia, Jr. and his wife, Shirley, of Winchendon, Robert C. Allia and his wife, Cathy Siegal, of Magnolia and Paula J. Allia and her partner, Annette Suridis, of Naples, Florida; her grandchildren, Angela LeBlanc, Amanda Allia, Joseph Allia, 3rd, Zachary Allia and Bethany Allia; her great-grandchilren, Melissa and Andrew LeBlanc and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Helen Patuto. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 8 a.m. Friday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
