Muriel M. Petersen

Waltham - Mrs. Muriel M. (Maillet) Petersen, of Waltham, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. She was 83. Muriel was born in New Bedford on February 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Alphee S. and Agnes (LeBlanc) Maillet and had been a lifelong resident of Waltham. She had worked for many years as a secretary at the Waltham Medical Building until her retirement. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Petersen who died in 1990 and leaves her children Karen J. Tahmoush and her husband, Frank, of Bluffton, South Carolina, Donald R. Petersen and his wife, Rebecca, of Princeton, David J. Petersen and his wife, AnnMarie, of Westford, and Wendy M. Cullinane and her husband, William, of Sterling; her brothers, George Maillet of Waltham and John Maillet of Hudson; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Muriel was also the mother of the late Beverly A. Puddester. Family and friends will honor and remember Muriel's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
