Nancy N. Frank, of Winchester, formerly of Waltham, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at The Gables in Winchester. She was 97.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 29, 1927, Nancy was the youngest of James and Isabella (Noris) Dodds’s eight children. She was raised and educated in Scotland, moving to the United States in 1951. She first lived in Naugatuck, Connecticut, where she met the love of her life Siegfried Frank, a native of Germany.
On June 30, 1956, she and Siegfried were wed and soon settled in Watertown to start their life and family together, before moving to Waltham in the 70’s where they lived for more than forty years before Siegfried’s passing in 2014.
Prior to immigrating to America, Nancy worked for British Rail and later in the United States she raised her daughter and worked as an accountant for UPS for many years. As a part-time employee, she was instrumental in securing, for herself and her coworkers, the benefit of joining the UPS savings plan. Her personable nature was instrumental in being able to accomplish this goal. That same personality created many lasting friendships at UPS over the years. She also loved to read, which paid off later in life, as she was quite proud of her trivia night winning streak at The Gables, where she also made many close friends. There was always a constant stream of fellow residents stopping by Nancy’s room for a visit.
Nancy leaves her daughter, Laura F. Clifford and husband, Robin, of Malden; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and their families.
Services for Nancy will be private.
