East Dennis – Mrs. Nancy F. (McAloon) McInerney, of East Dennis, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home. She was 68.
Nancy was born in Waltham on November 20, 1945, a daughter of the late Arthur L., Sr. and Mary E. (Grenham) McAloon. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Waltham and Boston College.
She had been a Waltham resident before her marriage to Leominster native John E. 'Jack' McInerney. The couple moved to Maynard in 1971 where they made their home until Jack's death on October 29, 1994. Shortly after that Nancy moved to East Dennis and had been a resident since.
Until her retirement last year Nancy was a teacher for the Nauset Public Schools and taught at Orleans Elementary School. Before that she worked for a number of years for Catholic Charities of Boston.
She had been a longtime parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of the Cape Church in Brewster and enjoyed spending time at Cold Storage Beach in Dennis.
She leaves her sister and brother, Kathleen M. Hallee and her husband, Joseph, of Walpole and Brendan M. McAloon and his wife, Lauren, of Key West, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Nancy was also a sister of the late Mary Agnes Augustine, Arthur L. McAloon, Jr. and Eileen M. McAloon.
Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, July 25th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Leo's Cemetery, Leominster.
