Nancy A. Worth

Nancy A. (Williams) Worth, of Waltham, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, May 15, 2023. She was 80 years old.

Nancy was born on November 13, 1942 in Waltham to Thomas and Ethel (Rasmusson) Williams. A lifelong Waltham resident, she was a graduate of the Waltham High School Class of 1960 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. 

She worked as a tissue culturist for over fifteen years at Brandeis University and later for many years at Immunogen Corporation in Cambridge and Norwood before retiring. 

Nancy kept active with friends playing Bridge and Canasta as well as tennis in earlier years. She loved to dance and travel including trips to France and Alaska. She frequented Cape Cod for many summer vacations with her family. Nancy also loved spending time at York Beach, Maine. 

Nancy was ever-present and always involved in her daughters’ lives. She was the doting ‘Grammie’ and number one cheerleader to her five grandchildren. Grammie always had a loving smile and kind words to say.

She leaves her three daughters, Brenda A. Mirabile and her husband, James of Hopkinton, Diane E. Hallenborg and her husband, Brad and Cheryl L. Worth, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Brianna, Nicholas, and Thomas Mirabile, Ryan and Justin Hallenborg; her sister, Joanne Garlisi and her husband, Charles of Sudbury and her late sister Maureen Williams and her husband, Walter Smith of Waltham; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, May 19^th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning where her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Following cremation burial will be private.
