Waltham – Mrs. Natalie L. (Creonte) Durkin, of Waltham, died on her 100th birthday, Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Wingate of Weston following a period of declining health.
She was born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Carmine and Christine (DeSisto) Creonte, and had been a lifelong resident. Before recently moving to Weston she enjoyed twelve happy years living at Concord Park in Concord.
Natalie took great care of her husband, her children and her home. She could be found walking and shopping daily for the evening meal and was a talented seamstress all her life. So talented in fact that for years she was the chief designer and seamstress for Waltham's Reagle Players.
The wife of the late Francis T. Durkin, she leaves her children, Natalie L. Provost, of Plymouth, Thomas F. Durkin and his wife, Eleanor, of Weston, Ret. Waltham Fire Dept. Captain Frederick R. Durkin and his wife, Judith, of Eastham and Walter F. Durkin, of Tewksbury; her grandchildren, Natalie Collilouri, Kenneth, Jr., William and Kurt Provost, Thomas, Jr., Brian and Kevin Durkin, Marie Lewis, Leanne Wilcinski and Daniel and Shaun Durkin; her sister and brothers, Santina Lombardi of Waltham, Anthony Creonte of Bedford, New Hampshire and William Creonte of Waltham; twenty great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Natalie was also the mother-in-law of the late Kenneth Provost and Gale Durkin; grandmother of the late Kelly Ann Durkin and Donna Mary Durkin and a sister of the late Augustine, Michael and Domenic Creonte.
Family and friends will honor and remember Natalie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, December 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
