Mr. Nicholas 'Nick' J. Valenzano of Lake Suzy, Florida, formerly of Kingston, New York and Waltham passed away suddenly at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte, Florida due to injuries received in an auto accident on Friday, September 9, 2005. He was 82. Mr. Valenzano was born on November 18, 1922 in Flatbush, New York to the late Philip and Antoinette (San Girardi) Valenzano. He served in the United States Army as sergeant with the 824th Tank Destroyer Battalion and the Medical Command Unit at Camp Hood, Texas receiving numerous medals and accolades including The American Theater Campaign Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, a Victory Ribbon and one Service Stripe. Mr. Valenzano was a member of the Kingston Fire Department and a life member of the Ulster Hose Co. #5. He was also a constable for the Town of Ulster, New York before becoming co-owner of Waltham Fuel Company. He had been a resident of Heron Pointe in Lake Suzy, Florida for the past seventeen years. He was the brother of the late Marie Michels. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Camille M. (Sendziak) of Lake Suzy; his daughter, Margaret 'Peggy' Bozak and her husband, Joseph of Waltham; three granddaughters, Michelle T., Amy L., and Suzanne M. Bozak, all of Waltham, his brother, Michael Valenzano and his wife, Jeanne of Wantagh, New York and many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
