Noreen M. (Bowler) Code

November 13, 1944 — March 19, 2020

Blue is the color of the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and is said to symbolize trust, loyalty, wisdom, faith, truth, and heaven. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body.

Noreen Code's favorite color was blue and she embodied many of these characteristics. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures like time spent with her family…her 'girls'…coffee ice-cream, walks on Ogunquit Beach and her toes in the sand, crocheting and tending to her plants. She had the most special relationship and friendship with her granddaughter, Mikayla who died March 24, 2019.

Noreen was rejoined with Mikayla on Thursday, March 19, 2020. She died peacefully with her family at her side in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 75. She now knows the true comfort and sweetness of peace.

Noreen M. Bowler was born on November 13, 1944 in Boston a daughter of the late James M. and Gertrude M. (Slack) Bowler. Raised in Wellesley she was a graduate of Wellesley High School. She lived many years in Waltham before moving to Acton twenty-five years ago.

In heaven Noreen joins her husband, Robert Code; her son, Michael A. Cardillo (September 12, 2012); her granddaughter, Mikayla Brogna (March 24, 2019) and her siblings, Paul and James Bowler and Alice Gallerani and her former first husband Frank A. Cardillo.

She leaves her daughters, Wendy A. Russo and Amy L. Brogna both of Maynard; her granddaughter, Christy Donohoo - Gill (Garrett); many nieces & nephews and their families.

Funeral services are private as a result of the ongoing and ever-developing health crisis in the world and our community. Noreen's family will gather for services and burial in Mount Feake Cemetery.
