Lowell- Mrs. Norma T. (Foglietta) Garrahan of Waltham died Saturday November 29, 2003 in D’Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was 91.
Born in Lynn, a daughter of the late Domenico and Augusta (Casali) Foglietta, Mrs. Garrahan was a Teacher’s Aide in the Waltham Public Schools for 28 years before her retirement in 1989. Mrs. Garrahan lived in Waltham for over sixty years. She was a former Vice-President of the Eastern Region of the Massacusetts Association of Parent/Teacher Organizations, a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a volunteer for the Beaver Brook Mental Health Association. Mrs. Garrahan authored a poem which was included as part of the dedication ceremonies of the Chapel at Brandies University.
Mrs. Garrahan was the wife of the late James J. Garrahan and sister of the late Diana Kent.
She is survived by her children, Roberta M. Pennacchio of Stamford, CT, Martha A. Scott of Augusta, GA, Joseph R. Garrahan of Westford, Daniel J. Garrahan of Plastow, NH, and Judith A. Michienzi of Woburn; one brother Gore Roberts of Florida; fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20) Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Watertown.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
