Waltham – Mrs. Norma M. (Bastarache) Goguen, of Waltham, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home, Belmont. She was 84.
Norma was born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, New Brunswick on July 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Cecime and Adrienne (Maillete) Bastarache. She and her family moved to Waltham in 1956. Until her retirement Norma worked for a number of years at the Standard-Thompson Company in Waltham.
She and her family were lifelong members of Saint Joseph's Parish in Waltham and she was also a longtime member of the French-American Victory Club in Waltham.
Norma's husband, Arthur J. Goguen, died November 18, 2010.
She leaves her children, Giselle Legault and her husband, Richard, Raymond Goguen and his wife, Theresa, and Pauline Mazmanian; her grandchildren, Amanda and Corey Goguen; her brother and sister, Leo Bastarache and Imelda Leger and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was also a sister of the late Gerard and Eric Bastarache.
Family and friends will honor and remember Norma's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, October 18th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
