Norma V. White

Framingham – Sr. Norma V. White, R.C.E. died peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Saint Patrick's Manor, Framingham. She was 93 years old.

Sr. Norma was born in Leominster on August 25, 1927, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ida (Desjardins) White. She was raised and educated in Leominster before graduating from Putnam Catholic Academy in Connecticut. She would later earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College, her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emmanuel College and her Master's degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Sr. Norma entered into the Religious of Christian Education order in November of 1946, made her First Profession in June of 1949 and her Final Vows in August of 1954. She began her long and fruitful teaching career at St. James School in Arlington and would go on to teach generations of children at Saint Pierre's School in Waltham, Jeanne D'Arc Academy in Milton, Saint Genevieve of the Pines in Asheville, North Carolina, Saint Patrick Word of God in Rhode Island, Saint Mary's in Milton, Saint Peter's in Cambridge and at the Mission Catholique School in West Africa.

In addition to her confreres in the Religious of Christian Education Community she leaves her sister, Doris Warren of Dayton, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was also a sister of the late Mary Lowe, Andrew White, Edward White and Richard White.

Sr. Norma will be laid to rest privately in the White family lot in Saint Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster. A Memorial Mass will be offered at a later date.
