Waltham Mr. Norman F. Hynes of Waltham died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at his home. He was 78. Born and raised in Waltham, he attended local schools and the Waltham Trade School, and had been a lifelong resident. Mr. Hynes served with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Scania in the Pacific during World War II. After the war, he went to work for the Waltham Grinding Wheel Company and in 1952, went to work at the Raytheon Company. He retired from Raytheon in 1989. Norman was a fifty year member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1018 in Waltham, a member of the Waltham Sons of Italy and the Raytheon Retirees Club, and in his spare time enjoyed playing cards. He leaves his wife of forty-five years, Iris Kathleen (Mackey) Hynes and one sister, Margaret Hynes of Weston. He was also a son of the late Patrick J. and Margaret (Murphy) Hynes and a brother of the late Joseph and Richard Hynes. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
