Mrs. Palma S. “Pam” (Santich) Baldi, of Sudbury, died Thursday February 29, 2024 at her home. She was 91.
Born in Duryea, Pennsylvania, Palma was the daughter of the late Matthew, Jr. and Palma (Gnazzo) Santich. She earned her associate degree from Lackawanna College. She and her late husband, Robert H. “Bud” Baldi had been residents of Binghamton New York, Wilton Connecticut and Peabody Massachusetts before settling in Sudbury in 1973.
Palma was dearly loved by her husband, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. We all looked forward to our yearly Thanksgiving weekend of great food, sports and competitive word games. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed countless hours planting, composting, and studying botany. She was still gardening and independent until her death. Her curiosity and love of learning was a huge part of her life and her studies included courses in ancient civilizations, art, legal and biblical studies. She loved traveling and visiting museums around the world. Her favorite was her annual spring visit to MASS MoCA. Her love of art led her to take painting classes wherever she was. She continued to paint throughout her life.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bud, Palma was predeceased by her brothers, Matthew and David and her sister Sandy Burger.
She leaves her daughters, Karen Baldi (Kelley Doolan), Andrea Baldi (Peter Taxidis), and Jessica Baldi and her granddaughters Deliah Doolan and Rosalie Adams (Drew Adams), and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Palma will be held privately in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
