Waltham – Mrs. Patricia E. (Small) Atwood, of Waltham, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at her home. She was 72.

Patricia was born in Boston on March 17, 1941, a daughter of the late James and Marie (Bissett) Small and had lived in Medford and in Waltham for most of her life. Until her retirement she worked for a number of years as a case worker for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind.

The wife of the late Donald Atwood, Sr., she leaves her children, Donna M. Kifer and Michele A. Richard and her husband, Maurice, all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Jermaine D. Kifer, Danielle M. Richard and Virginia L. Richard; her siblings, Joseph Small of Petersburg, Virginia, James Small of Worcester and Arlene Orso of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.

She was also a sister of the late Mary Small.

Family and friends will honor and remember Patricia's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 18th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
