Waltham Mrs. Patricia M. (Hastings) Bowler of Waltham died Thursday, July 14, 2005 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Brighton. She was 77. Born in Cambridge, Mrs. Bowler had lived in Allston for many years before moving to Waltham in 1955. She was a teacher in the Waltham Public Schools retiring seven years ago. Prior to that, she was a teacher for the Boston Public Schools. Mrs. Bowler was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton and Regis College. She was a former member and Prefect for the Saint Jude Church Sodality. Mrs. Bowler was a member of the Saint Jude Church Altar Guild and served as an Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She also volunteered at Saint Jude School. She was the wife of the late Edward W. Bowler, the daughter of the late Francis and Nora Eileen (McMahon) Hastings, and the sister of the late Edward Hastings, Barbara Goggin, and Jeannine Lyons. Mrs. Bowler is survived by her children, Edward V. Bowler of Boxborough, Mary E. Coogan of North Reading, Patricia M. Bowler of Winchester, Susan F. Bowler and John P. Bowler both of Waltham, and Christopher H. Bowler of Arlington; her brother, Maurice Hastings of Mattapan; her sisters, Frances Corrigan of Allston and Ursula Rogers of North Conway, NH; twelve grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude School, 175 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02453.
