Patricia E. “Tricia” (Maguire) Carrafiello, of Waltham, died Sunday, July 16, 2023 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. She was 76.
Tricia was born in Newton on June 12, 1947, a daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Lavalle) Maguire. Raised in Newton she was a graduate of Our Lady Help of Christians High School in Newton and in the same parish she married Michael Carrafiello in October, 1968. Shortly after their marriage the pair moved to Waltham where they had been residents ever since.
She worked at various local stores while raising her family and loved learning about her family’s past. Tricia was her family’s genealogy expert extraordinaire. She and her husband, Michael, traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.
In addition to her beloved husband, Michael, she leaves her children, Thomas Carrafiello (Sharon) of Framingham, Dennis Carrafiello (Nicole) of Waltham, and Ryan Carrafiello (Lisa) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Dylan, Makayla, Taylor, Jordan, Alex, and Ryan; her siblings, Mary Demaio (Joseph) of Newton, Frederick Maguire (Janet) of Tewksbury, Margaret Mazzolla (Joseph) of Newton, and John Maguire (Mariellen) of Framingham and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Tricia’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, July 20th from 4 to 8 p.m. and at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
