Waltham – Mrs. Patricia (Hussey) DiIeso, of Waltham died Monday, November 30, 2009 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was 75. Pat was born in East Boston on May 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Irving and Helen (Lawton) Hussey, and raised and educated in Malden where she had been a long time resident. She also lived in Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Waltham in 1958. She and her family traveled extensively, visiting 30 countries and 20 Caribbean islands. On the occasion of her 50th wedding anniversary Pat, her husband, Nick and their family enjoyed a cruise to Bermuda. Until her retirement, Pat worked at Central Mutual Insurance Company as an underwriter for the state of New Jersey. She was a member of the Democratic Party, Hardy Pond Association, and served as treasurer for the Waltham Cable Board. Pat was very active in political elections and produced a local cable channel video that took on overdevelopment and traffic issues in North Waltham. She was a former chairperson of the Waltham Conservation Commission for four years and helped with the Hardy Pond harvesting program to reclaim the pond for recreational use. Pat leaves her husband of 53 years, Nicholas V. DiIeso; her children, Michael DiIeso and his wife, Margo, of Westford, Nicholas T. DiIeso and his wife, Luisa, of Framingham, Kathleen Morel and her husband, Robert, of Maynard and Ann Marie Gartland and her husband Jack of Natick and her grandchildren, Christopher Gartland, Nicholas V. DiIeso, and Christina DiIeso. She was also the sister of the late John Hussey. Family and friends will honor and remember Pat's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be private.
