Rochester, NH - Mrs. Patricia L. (Robinson) Millen, of Rochester, New Hampshire, formerly of Waltham, died Monday October, 11, 2010 at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was 85.
Patricia was born in Waltham on August 27, 1925, a daughter of the late Roy and Bessie (Kincade) Robinson, and had lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Rochester sixteen years ago. She had worked for fifteen years at Babson College in the Career Council Department as an administrative assistant until her retirement. She was a 1944 graduate of Waltham High School and as class vice president, she was the first female acting president due to World War II. On April 16th of that year she married her late husband Edward J. Millen, at Christ Church in Waltham.
Patty exemplified her faith by a life of helping others. She was loved by all. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, music and was a talented painter in both oil and water color. She and her husband were also founding members of the Concord Minutemen and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.
She leaves her children, Valerie J. Millen, of Exeter, New Hampshire, Bruce E. Millen and his wife, Yinen of Rochester, New Hampshire, Ted J. Millen and his partner, Laura King, of Acton, Lee R. Millen and his partner, Jake Ouellette, of Madbury, New Hampshire; her brother, Lee M. Robinson and his wife, Marilyn, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Kailah, Jocelyn, Paige, De, and Ming; her great-grandchild, Arianna and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Patricia’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday, October 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by graveside services at Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham at 1:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 15, at 11 a.m. in the Community Baptist Church, 136 Eastern Avenue, Rochester, New Hampshire, 03867.
