Waltham – Ms. Patricia (Patti) D. Powers, of Waltham, died peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer on February 5th, 2013 in the Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was 64.
Patti was born on April 17, 1948, a daughter of the late William P. and Verla (Sloper) Powers. She attended the Waltham public schools and graduated from Waltham High School in 1966. She worked for over 35 years for the Rohm and Haas Company, formerly the Shipley Company.
Patti was well known for her quick wit, frank style, warmth and engaging smile. She enjoyed traveling cruising and had visited several countries in Europe as well as many islands throughout the Caribbean. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and was especially fond its traditional music.
Patti was a talented photographer, always to have her camera ready to capture people, flowers, and nature creating an online album for everyone to enjoy. Her love for the many pets she shared her life with through the years brought her joy and serenity. She loved butterflies, unicorns and angels which were displayed throughout her home.
She is survived by her dear friends DeeDee Pappas, Sally Collura, Mitch Broue, Loretta Murren, Dottie Stanley and also by her precious dog Misty.
Family and friends will honor and remember Patti's life by gathering to visit in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, February 23rd at 10 a.m. where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
