Patricia A. Woodside

Waltham – Mrs. Patricia A. (Delorey) Woodside, of Waltham, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Friday, March 20, 2009 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 55.

Patricia was born in Newton on February 6, 1954, a daughter of the late Paul and Marjorie (Myshrall) Delorey and graduated from Waltham High School, Class of 1972. She worked as the office manager at Woodside Tire and Battery Company on Weston Street in Waltham for over 34 years. Pat was an avid painter and enjoyed working with ceramics and painting with acrylics on canvas. She was a voracious scrap-booker. The child in her always had a fascination and love for the Winnie the Pooh character, 'Eeyore' and she cherished her relationship with her only grandchild, Neko, who lovingly called her 'Mimi'. Pat had a strong tie to the ocean and beaches and a special affection for lighthouses. Among her favorite spots was Hampton Beach.

She leaves her husband of 34 years, Robert I. Woodside; her sons, Nicholas R. Woodside and his wife, Celeste, of Waltham and Adam F. Woodside and his fiancé, Melanie Oulighan, both of Maynard; her granddaughter, Neko Jorie Woodside; her siblings, Lin Levesque of Greenfield, New Hampshire, Kelli Delorey and Robert Delorey, both of Waltham, William Delorey of Florida and Michael Delorey of Massachusetts; her mother-in-law, Anne E. (Roy) Woodside; her brother-in-law, Frederick R. Woodside and his wife, Linda, all of Weston; her sister-in-law, Maria W. Freitag and her husband, Robert, of Newington Connecticut and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was also a daughter-in-law of the late Frederick A. Woodside.

Family and friends will honor and remember Patricia's life by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning for Patricia's funeral service. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
