Waltham - Mr. Paul F. Mullen, of Waltham, died Monday, April 23, 2012 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 62.

Paul was born in Newton on October 11, 1949, a son of the late Carl and Bertha (DeWolfe) Mullen. A graduate of Newton North High School he was a life-long Newton resident until moving to Waltham in 2000.

He had been the owner of Mullen Trucking as well as Mullen Insurance Agency, both in Newton. In later years he was a deputy in the civil process division of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2010.

Paul is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Baccari) Mullen; his daughter, Jennifer A. Mullen of Waltham; his son, Carl J. Mullen and his wife, Patricia, of Waltham; his grandchildren, Colleen R. Butler, Emily T. Butler, Michelle D. Butler, Sean P. Butler, Jr., and Matthew J. Mullen; his brother, Harold Mullen of Bayfield, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Paul's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, April 26th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Friday morning when his funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
