Mrs. Paula E. (White) McLaughlin of Port Charlotte, FL died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in the Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte. She was 73. Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Newton on November 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Keating) White. She had lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Florida in 1994.
Paula was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School, Class of 1955, and attended Bridgewater State College. She was the accountant for her family's business, White's Garage, on Felton Street in Waltham for many years until her retirement in 1986.
Paula enjoyed knitting, crocheting, shopping, cooking, baking, holiday dinners and events, and camping with her late husband, Michael J. McLaughin, Jr., at Canoe River in Mansfield.
A caretaker of many, she loved being with her grandchildren.
Paula is survived by her children, Catherine E. Perry and her husband, Robert, of Waltham, Michael J. McLaughlin, III and his wife, Bernadette Cameron, of Derry NH, David W. McLaughlin and his wife, Andrea, of Port Charlotte FL, and Kevin P. McLaughlin and his wife, Sandra, of Salem NH; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her dear friends, Dr. Brian and Lisa Ardel of Port Charlotte FL.
She was the sister of the late Frank White, Jr., David White, and James White.
Family and friends will honor and remember Paula's life by gathering for her calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, November 14th, from 4-8 pm and again at 9 am on Tuesday before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
