Pauline (Hebert) Caruso

October 25, 1928 — October 11, 2021

Waltham - Pauline (Hebert) Caruso passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021 surrounded by family, at her home in Waltham, Massachusetts at the age of 92.

Born on October 25, 1928 to parents, Loretta (Cormier) Hebert and Napoleon Hebert. Pauline was a lifelong Waltham resident and graduated from Waltham High School in 1948. She was employed by Grover Cronin's and Raytheon, both in Waltham.

On October 15, 1950 Pauline married the love of her life, John (Johnny) Caruso. Pauline and Johnny were married for 40 years until his passing and  together they built a life centered around family, laughter, and love.

Pauline was our family's anchor. She was undeniably dedicated to the overall happiness of each and every person that was part of, or touched our family. She loved spending time in the kitchen, ensuring all traditions were properly passed down to the next generation. Pauline loved spending time with family and friends, most often enjoying time at the beach, sitting on her back porch, talking with friends, reading, or doing her puzzles. She was known to her grandchildren as a fashion icon, notably sporting her large black sunglasses, perfectly manicured nails, and her well-coiffed hairdo thanks to her weekly Wednesday appointments.

She was predeceased by her husband Johnny; her sister,Cecile (Hebert) Delaney of New Brunswick, Canada, and most recently her brother, Silvio Hebert of Freemont, California.

Pauline is survived by her three children, Sylvia Caruso Mahoney and her partner, Rejean Drouin, Victoria Caruso Lazaro and her husband, Joseph Lazaro, and John (Jack) Caruso and his wife, Sara Coyle Caruso; her five granddaughters: Jessica Lazaro, Amanda Lazaro Manfredo and her husband, Justin Manfredo, Stephanie Caruso, Alyssa Caruso, and Christina Caruso. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Nico Manfredo, as well as many nieces, nephews; her brother Norman Hebert of New Brunswick, Canada.

Pauline was always the life of the party and those who had the privilege of knowing her will have those memories to cherish forever.

Family and friends will honor Pauline's life by gathering for a calling hour at the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, Waltham, on Saturday, October 23rd from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
