Pearl A. Charlton

Mrs. Pearl A. (Read) Charlton of Waltham died Thursday April 22, 2004 in Piety Corner Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 96. Born in Waltham, a daughter of the late Robert and Isabel (Boddy) Read, she was a secretary for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Charlton lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1974. She was a graduate of Waltham High School, a former New England Club Member in Boynton Beach, and a former member of Immanuel Methodist Church in Waltham. She was the wife of the late Gerald Charlton, mother of the late Barbara Towne, and sister of the late Kenneth, George, Arthur Read and Bertha Jordan. She is survived by her son Robert A. “Red” Charlton and his wife Mary of Waltham, one sister Mabel Josephson of Boynton Beach, Fl; three grandchildren Scott Towne, Linda Sanders, Robert Towne, two great grandchildren David and Jacqueline and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham. Burial will be private.
