Peiqi Liu

Lexington – Mr. Peiqi Liu, Tianjin, China, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at his son's home in Lexington after experiencing complications from liver cancer.

Mr. Liu was 73. Born on December 18, 1946 in Wuhan, China, he was a son of the late Guozhen Liu and Yongjuan Zhang.

Mr. Liu graduated from Beijing University of Technology with a BS degree in 1970. in 1971, he married Lanyun Tian and made Tianjin, China as their lifelong home. Mr. Liu worked as Staff Engineer and Associate Director at Computing Center of Tianjin for 20 years, and another 15 years served as founder and Vice President of Tianjin Northern Technology Exchange Market. Mr. Liu was regarded as a leading person in theory and practice of technology commercialization platform in China.

Mr. Liu had many interests that included reading, cooking, traveling and photography with his family and friends. Mr. Liu had traveled to more than 25 countries in Asia, Middle East, North America, Europe and Africa. Among many travel adventure in China, one of Mr. Liu's great achievements was overland driving 2000 km to Lhasa, Tibet from Chengdu, Sichuan in 2019. It took enormous courage and determination for a stage-4 liver cancer survivor at the time to make it happen.

Mr. Liu leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Lanyun Tian; his son, Yan Liu and his wife, Yingchuan Sun, of Lexington, Massachusetts; his daughter, Lu Liu and her husband Huafeng Wu of Richmond, Canada; his sister, Wanyuan Liu and his grandchildren, Justin Yuancheng Liu and Evan Juncheng Liu of Lexington, Massachusetts and Jocelyn Jiachen Wu of Richmond, Canada.

Mr. Liu will be missed immensely by his family and many many friends, and will be in our hearts forever.

Family will honor and remember Mr. Liu's life by gathering for memorial service in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, September 22, from 8 to 10 a.m. Cremation will follow in Newton Crematory. 慈父刘佩琦，因患肝癌，经多方医治无效，不幸于二零二零年九月十五日凌晨两点五十八分在美国家中安详与世长辞，享年七十三岁。

父亲一九四六年十二月十八日生于湖北省武汉，家中上有兄姐，排行最小。父母早逝，父亲少年时便由亲戚照料在北京生活求学。父亲毕业于北京工业大学无线电专业，并在校时结识母亲田兰允。两人毕业后结婚，经过几年因工作原因造成的两地分居，一九七六年定居天津，至今四十余年。

父亲历任天津计算中心副所长和天津北方技术交易市场副总裁。为表彰其对中国技术市场发展的突出贡献，父亲荣获二零零五年"金桥奖"先进个人。父亲退休生活依旧精彩，偕同母亲游历神州山河包括多次长途自驾行至西部边陲新疆，青海，西藏等省份，且海外足迹遍布四大洲二十余国家和地区。

父亲二零一五年被确诊肝癌晚期，从被判定三至六个月存活期，历经介入手术，靶向药物，放射治疗，免疫调节，到奇迹般获得新生长达五年，是父亲决心，信心和耐心以及医生用心与家人朋友爱心的见证。父亲"与癌相争，永不放弃"的故事被无私分享并收录与书，恩泽激励后来病友。

父亲一生，为人正直，注重家庭，教育子女，严格认真，亲友同事，平易近人，工作事业，一丝不苟，自强不息，精神永存。

亲友追悼会定于二零二零年九月二十二日早八时（北京时间二零二零年九月二十二日晚八时）在美国沃尔瑟姆镇The Joyce Funeral Home举行。谨此讣告。
