Waltham – Peter Jeffrey Cohn, in his 59th year, died October 14, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Dr. Samuel A. Cohn and Agnes E. (McManama) Cohn Quinn, he had been a lifelong resident and summered at Humarock Beach in Scituate. Peter had worked for the New England Telephone Company and for many years owned his own transportation business in Waltham. Peter attended St. Sebastian's Country Day School and Merrimack College, where he was a member of the hockey team. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Lions Club. Peter also volunteered for many years in Special Olympics programs and at Camp Happy Hollow in Waltham and had been a coach in the Warrendale Little League program for many years. He was a member of Saint Patrick's Family Players of Watertown where he performed in multiple Broadway reviews and the musical Cantata Resurrection. He was also an avid golfer, a member of the Wayland Inner Club and his big heart touched many. Peter was the devoted husband of Patricia H. (Cannon) Cohn; dear father of Sara E. Cohn and Peter Jeffrey Cohn, Jr. and his wife, Michele, all of Waltham and loving Papa of Kira and Nicholas Cohn; brother of A. Richard Cohn and his wife, Ann, of Waltham and also leaves many nieces, nephews and a circle of wonderful and loyal friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 10 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
