Waltham – Mr. Peter J. O'Malley, of Waltham, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 68.
Peter was born on Boston on December 3, 1946, a son of the late Joseph A. 'Bud' and Dorothy A. (Brady) O'Malley. He was raised in Waltham and was a graduate of Waltham High School. After that he served for a number of years with the United States Air Force Reserve.
He graduated from Western New England College and lived for several years with his family in Essex Junction, Vermont where he was the proprietor of College Formals, a formalwear rental company. More than twenty years ago Peter moved back to Waltham and had worked for several years as a sales associate at Mercedes Benz of Westwood.
Peter leaves his children, Peter J. 'PJ' and Kaitlin E. O'Malley, his former wife, Margaret M. (White) O'Malley all of Watertown; his sisters and brother, Dorothy A. O'Malley of Milford, Marcia J. Como and her husband, Robert, and William J. O'Malley and his wife, Lisa, all of Waltham and his longtime companion, Ani Hekimian, of Waltham.
He was also the father of the late William O'Malley.
Family and friends will honor and remember Peter's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, February 6th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
